Future Tools: how to get listed

Future Tools is an AI tool database and news site run by the creator Matt Wolfe, grown out of his own spreadsheet in late 2022. Beside the directory it publishes a curated AI news feed, a Top 20 list reviewed monthly, reviews and a twice-weekly newsletter the site puts at 250,000+ subscribers; the advertise page states 60k+ monthly site visitors and 4,310+ tools indexed.

Who lists here

Publicly usable software tools that differ from what is already listed. The FAQ says this is a personal curation rather than a marketplace, and that over 75% of submitted tools are not approved.

What to prepare

  • The free submit form: your name, the tool name and URL, a short description, one of the listed categories and a pricing model (free, freemium, paid or open source) and your email address.
  • A finished, publicly available product — the FAQ rejects waitlist-only tools, custom GPTs from the GPT Store, newsletters, aggregators, links to chat bots and low-effort or adult sites.
  • Patience and no chasing: the FAQ warns that you will likely not hear back either way, and that you may resubmit once if nothing appears within a week.

What “live” means here

Listed means a page under /tools/ with an AI-written summary — the FAQ says it is generated from your homepage with the GPT-5.2 API and read by a person, with your Open Graph image or a screenshot as the visual. New entries show up in a 48-hour list, and removals are published too.

Worth knowing

Every tool page carries a “Suggest Changes” button; that is the route for corrections, not email. Paid placement exists but stays separate and labelled — featured listings are capped at two per week and, according to the FAQ, never affect the Top 20 or the news picks.
