If you are wondering how to market vibe coded apps, the honest answer is: the same way as any other app, just with less time to hide behind building. The AI wrote the code; nobody writes the demand for you. This page is for vibe coders with little marketing experience. It sets realistic expectations first, then gives you a plan you can start today, and says plainly where LaunchRepo helps and where it does not.
What to expect: our own numbers
We sell LaunchRepo, a toolkit for directory launches, so we measured what our own listings did (status on 23 September 2026). Many directories hide the referrer, and our analytics sees roughly 70 % of visits, so read these as lower bounds.
- 31 live listings, about 47 visits
- LaunchRepo went live on 31 launch platforms and directories. In the first ten days they sent about 47 visits and no sale we could attribute to them.
- 21 listings for a second product
- Our pilot product seomap.dev went live on 21 platforms: about 30 visits in 14 days, no payments and no change in app usage.
- One Product Hunt launch, not featured
- Our launch on 16 September 2026 did not make the homepage and brought 18 visits.
- What did sell
- Posts by the founder on X, written as a person, not as an ad. It is the only channel we can tie to sales so far.
Directories are still worth an afternoon: you do them once, they tell search engines and AI assistants that your app exists, and a few visitors keep arriving. They are just not where your first 100 users come from.
The rules of the big launch sites
Vibe-coded apps are welcome almost everywhere, but the big venues have rules that trip up first-time launchers. We read each rule at the source on September 28, 2026.
- Product Hunt
- The team decides what gets featured, using four criteria: useful, novel, high craft, creative. Upvotes guarantee nothing, and the guidelines single out minimal, undifferentiated products aimed at quick money.help.producthunt.com ↗ · Checked on September 28, 2026
- Show HN
- Only for something people can try. Sign-up pages, landing pages and newsletters are off topic, and asking friends to upvote is not allowed.news.ycombinator.com ↗ · Checked on September 28, 2026
- Hacker News text
- The guidelines say: do not post generated or AI-edited text. Write your Show HN post and your replies yourself.news.ycombinator.com ↗ · Checked on September 28, 2026
- Security of generated apps
- CVE-2025-48757 describes missing row-level security in Lovable-generated apps up to April 2025: strangers could read or write database tables. Lovable disputes it and says each customer owns their data protection. Either way, check your database rules before you invite traffic.www.cve.org ↗ · Checked on September 28, 2026
- Google Search
- Google’s spam policies count using generative AI to produce many pages without adding value as scaled content abuse. A hundred AI blog posts can hurt more than they help.developers.google.com ↗ · Checked on September 28, 2026
Seven steps from finished app to first users
In this order. Each step fits into an evening; together they make a plan for your first month.
Make it safe and trustworthy
Own domain, working sign-up and password reset, a privacy page, and database rules that only let users see their own data. Ask your coding agent to review auth and row-level security, then test with a second account.
Write one sentence that is not about AI
Who is it for and what does it do for them? “Invoices for freelance translators in two clicks.” Nobody searches for an app built with Lovable; people search for their problem.
Find 20 people who have the problem
Look where they already talk: subreddits, Discord and Slack groups, forums, comment threads. Read the rules, answer questions, and message people who describe exactly your problem. Ask for feedback, not for a sign-up.
Build in public
Share what you build and learn on X, Threads, LinkedIn or Bluesky, as yourself: screenshots, small wins, honest numbers. It is slow, and it was still the channel that sold for us.
List it where listing is free
Spend a few afternoons on directories for vibe-coded apps, then on general launch platforms and free startup directories. Expect a trickle of visits and your first links from other sites.
Launch once, prepared
Pick one launch day (Product Hunt, Show HN if people can try the app without signing up, or another launch platform) when the app is ready and you can answer comments all day.
Write one page per real question
A short guide for each question your users actually ask. One useful page beats fifty generated ones, and it keeps working long after launch week.
Which channel brings what
A rough map for a solo builder without an audience. This is our judgement from our own launches, not a measurement.
| Channel | Effort | First users after | What it really brings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct conversations | High, every day | Days | Your first users and the words they use for their problem |
| Building in public | Medium, ongoing | Weeks to months | People who trust you; the channel that sold for us |
| Communities (Reddit, Discord) | Medium | Days, if the post helps | Bursts of visits; pure self-promotion gets removed |
| Launch platforms | Medium, once | Launch day | A spike if featured, often little if not |
| Directories | Low per listing | Weeks | A trickle of visits and links; proof that you exist |
| Search content | Medium | Months | Steady visits later, if the pages answer real questions |
Where LaunchRepo fits, and where it does not
LaunchRepo covers step 5 and part of step 6: the repetitive submissions. It is a private GitHub repository that your own AI coding or browser agent runs.
- It fits if you already work with an agent
- Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or a browser agent reads the playbooks for 299 platforms, fills the forms in your signed-in Chrome and records every result in a tracker. If you vibe coded the app with an agent, you already have what it takes.
- It fits if you have more than one app
- Pay once, use it for every product you own. The product description you write for the first app is reused for the next one.
- It does not fit if you want it done for you
- Nothing runs on our servers. You start the agent, watch it and step in for logins, CAPTCHAs, 2FA and email confirmations. It never bypasses them.
- It does not do steps 1–4 or 7
- No community posts, no outreach, no building in public, no articles. Those need you, and they matter more for your first users.
Common mistakes
- Marketing before the app is safe
- A data leak in week one ends the launch. Check auth and database rules first.
- Selling the tool instead of the result
- “Built with AI in 48 hours” interests other builders, not customers. Lead with the problem you solve.
- Posting AI-written text in communities
- Hacker News forbids it and most communities spot it fast. Write launch posts and replies yourself.
- Expecting directories to bring users
- They bring a trickle. Plan conversations and posts for your first 100 users.
- Launching everywhere on the same day
- You cannot answer comments on five sites at once. Spread launches over several weeks.
Questions
How do I market a vibe coded app with no audience?
Start with conversations: find 20 people with the problem in communities they already use and ask for feedback. At the same time, share your progress publicly and list the app in free directories. A launch day works better once a few people know you.
How do I sell vibe coded apps?
Charge for the outcome, not the code. Add a payment link early (Stripe, Lemon Squeezy or Paddle), talk to your first users about price, and make sure the app is secure and supported. If you want to sell the app itself, buyers pay for users and revenue, not for code.
Is vibe coding marketing different from normal app marketing?
The channels are the same. Two things differ: you ship faster than you can market, so distribution becomes the bottleneck, and some venues are sceptical of low-effort AI apps. Show what makes yours useful, and do not hide how you built it.
Should I say my app was vibe coded?
On vibe coding directories it is the whole point. Customers rarely care; lead with what the app does. Never use it as an excuse for bugs or weak security.
Do startup directories still help in 2026?
A little. In our own measurement, 31 listings brought about 47 visits in ten days. They are cheap to do once and help search engines find you, but they do not replace talking to users.
Let your agent do the directory rounds
You built the app with an agent; with LaunchRepo the same agent works through 299 launch platforms while you talk to users. The launch price is €99.98, paid once, for all your own products.
