Maker profile

Your personal account on a launch platform — name, avatar, bio, links — that submissions and comments are attributed to.

Definition

A maker profile is the personal account on a launch platform or community — display name, avatar, short bio, links to your site and social profiles — under which products are submitted and comments are written. Many platforms tie launch rights, comment history and verification to it; some require the profile to exist for a while or to have activity before a launch.

It is distinct from the product listing and from the company profile: one person, potentially many products.

Why it matters for a directory launch

Directories increasingly moderate by who submits, not just what. A blank profile created an hour ago reads as spam; an inconsistent one — different names, a private email shown publicly — undermines the listing. And because an agent works under that profile, the facts it may publish about you have to be agreed once, precisely.

How LaunchRepo handles it

identity.json stores the authorised public name, nickname, organisation facts and preferred sign-in method, and separates the private account email from the public contact address. PR-BRIEFING.md is a short session before the first public listing: which personal facts may appear, in what wording, with your approved examples kept in representation.md. The agent never creates a second account to bypass a limit — Uneed’s one-pending-launch rule is recorded as blocked.
