B2B review sites are comparison platforms for business buyers. A profile carries your description, pricing, category placement and — the part that actually moves anything — verified customer reviews. Rankings, quarterly badges and “leader” positions are computed from those reviews, not from the listing itself.
These sites fit companies selling to other companies with at least a handful of customers willing to write something. A pre-revenue side project fits badly: the profile will sit at the bottom of its category without a single rating, and no amount of description polish changes that.
Preparation is the most demanding in the catalog. Expect to supply company details as well as product details — legal name, location, founding year, a contact person, a hi-res logo, a buyer-facing description and a target audience. Several vendor routes are request forms handled by a research team rather than instant submissions, and at least one publishes an acceptance rate well below half. Plan a review campaign separately: which customers you will ask, in which language, and in what order.
Live means a resolving public profile in the right category with your website link working. Some platforms send a confirmation email when a listing has been published — keep it, but still open the page. Badges arrive later, on the platform’s own schedule, and are never something to promise a stakeholder in advance.
